Going to visit Grandad and Grandma as children we would never quite know what sort of new adventure there would be or exciting thing he would have made. There was the rope swing on the tree or the time he made us stilts. One time when we came to visit he had made a kart out of a shelf and we slid down the hill. Mum has told me about his legendary zip-wire which doesn't sound like it would have passed health and safety regulations. Grandad could always be counted on to join in a tug of war or balloon tennis.
