Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had an older sister, Pamela. He grew up in Southampton and won a scholarship to the university there. Having obtained his B.Sc and a Ph.D he decided his career would be in medicine and became Hospital Physicist. He worked first at King’s Collage Hospital, then as part of the “brain drain” in San Antonio Texas. Back home he joined the Medical Physics department at the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff. Finally after 17 years there he became a consultant at the Military Hospital in Ryadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ken was a keen member of the Boy’s Brigade rising up the ranks to become Captain. He enjoyed the church youth group and became a very good table tennis player which he continued to play most of his life.
He also loved badminton and enjoyed walking, cycling and climbing!
Another passion was wood work, making, renovating and even carving. He was meticulous at DIY and would tackle anything even reproofing our stables.
In 1962 he married Margaret (Maggie), a music graduate, pianist and sing, and from then on he grew to love an appreciate Classical music. He had a good bass voice (when encouraged to sing at the right pitch) a together they enjoyed singing in their church choirs and in choral societies.
